Glad to be here. I have basement woodworking and electronics workshops and learned about this web site after watching a member's video shop tour on Youtube.com.

I am a retired engineer and acquired most of my hand tools at flea markets in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Tough to find affordable, USA-made hand tools these days.

Welcome from FOGGY N IL

If you still looking for older tools, you may want to check out some of the antique stores up in Walworth, WI. Just across the state line..... Prices are better than the Kane County Flee Market!

Thanks for the flea market tip.

I used to get most of my tools at a flea market held at a drive-in theater in Wheeling, IL when I lived closer to that area. Brand new SK, Proto, Indestro, Armstrong, Craftsman, VACO, Xcelite, and other USA-made tools sold for about 25% of their normal store prices!

Man, those were the days. After 30+ years, I don't know if that flea market is still there. The cops used to drop in at the flea market from time to time, looking for stolen goods.

There are a lot of older tools at KCFM from time-to-time, the only problem is they are normally overpriced........

I've been crawling the antique market, and have been lucky finding some good stuff. I never pay what they are looking for. I tell the floor person what I'm willing to spend and they normally call and ask the owner. Probably half the time they except the offer!
