Hello all! New guy from Iowa here…
I decided it was time to join the forum after I realized that most of the google searches I was doing related to hobbies kept leading me back here. Mister Moose’s Tool Chest Review saved me from making a costly mistake when buying a new tool box and Jack Olsen’s 12 Gauge Garage has inspired me to finally get busy putting my workspace in order. I figured since I’ve found the forum so useful, I may as well become a member and contribute when I can so I can hopefully help others in the same way all of you have helped me.
A little bit about me, and perhaps a few preemptive disclaimers to help explain the content of any future posts… I grew up on an acreage in rural Iowa, which should help explain why some of my solutions to problems may seem a little redneck. I work as an engineer in a large weld shop, so I might get a little nerdy at times when I go into detail about how something works. I’m interested in all sorts of things – motorcycles, jeeps, woodworking, gardening – which means my garage space is definitely a multi-use space. And finally, my wife and I were blessed with our first child a few months ago, which means money and time are tighter than they’ve ever been, so my progress on projects will undoubtedly be slow.
I look forward to continuing to learn and draw inspiration from all of you, and I hope I can pay it back a little with some posts of my own.
Thanks,
-Brad
