I was born in Israel and always lived here. Been abroad many times especially to the US, Ireland and China.
For living I'm a maintenance specialist in a semi conductors manufacturing company.
I promise to post pictures later on in another thread.

Welcome Mike. I've always had a lot of respect for Israel. I feel like our countries have a lot in common in our efforts to try and keep the free world free. Looking forward to your pics.

Welcome! I would love to see a couple photos of what garages are like in your area of the world. That is one of the coolest things about this place.

OK, we don't really have here garages as the way you think of it like it is in the US (an indoor garage attached to the private house).
What we have here is mostly one of two options:
1. A private land with the house and private driveway but without a roof. On that you can have a separate storage/ maintenance shed on your land.
2. An high story apartments building where the parking lot of the building is shared by all the tenants. This can be above ground level or below the building.
and of course you don't have any garage of your own in that.

I grew up in a private land house where I helped my dad with DIY tasks and projects inside and outside of the house. We did everything there from car maintenance to woodworking to metalworking to welding, electricity and plumbing and much more.
Currently I am living in apartments building almost without any space for my own but I converted on of the shower rooms into my own "garage". I will post pictures later on.

Mike: do you have any pictures of Israel to share. all I ever get to see is the bombed out buildings and the desert and i'm sure you have some that will make me (us) smile. are you reading or participating on some of the threads and what interests you the most currently?

Jeff: were you born there or are you talking about your relatives coming from there?

I got some really nice koi from a farm over there about 12 years ago.
What types of tools are made there ?

Welcome Mike....

I was just there....spent 2 weeks in Haifa on business.

It's the same thing every time....the drivers are BAD....even worse now with all the texting.

I just hope I didn't get any speeding camera tickets.

Would be very interesting to see pictures of garages/workshops/tools etc from your country.

I hope that you will like it here.

Welcome to GJ!!

I loved my one and only business trip to Israel. Beautiful country and some of the nicest/most sincere people I've ever met.

I think I know the semi conductor company you work for. We're brethren!!

Enjoy the site.

Big city, apartment living is hard for "automotive enthusiasts" ! Working in your stall in the parking garage (if you have a stall in a parking garage) is not very convenient.

I have been to a automotive engineering facility in Japan. Not all of the engineers owned cars, because they had no place to park them. Those that did, could not drive to work because there was no place to park at work ! Of course, the upper "imported" management had parking at both ends.

I walked the 5-6 blocks from the hotel to the office every morning.
