Im a 30 years old ex-carpenter (started when i was 20) that once the trade took a huge hit a few years ago decided to turn to my dream into real life and enrolled in college for automotive repair. Ive beed a 4.0 student for the entire time ive been in and have 1 more year left before im done. I have took a few of the ASE's and passed them, i have 3 more tests comming up this next time around. Im really excited that i now have just started to use my student discounts with Snap-on and Matco for my tools!!!! New tools are like crack!!! lol :rocker::beer:

Well i dropped 380.00 on a new Fluke 88v kit, another 189.00 at Matco on testing equipment. When our fed taxes come back i get another 3000.00 to invest in tools, just having a hard time deciding on Matco or Snap On. lol My discounts for each are pretty high up there (Snap on is close to 50% and Matco is around 52%). Next semester i get another 4k to spend on tools.

Well then welcome from 5 minutes away :D. I am up in PRP . I know what you mean about the trades falling off . My other half and I own an HVAC company and I am about ready to go play in the sand until the economy picks back up .

Actually I am talking to a few Civilian contracting companies about doing HVAC in Afghanistan . I figure $150,00-$200,000 tax free for a year is a pretty good incentive to go play in the desert for a year . I have already done my time with the Army 7 years actually. They do have mechanics by the way :D.

LOL that I also understand . I would say about the only thing I dont have any desire to touch in the HVAC world is an oil furnace . Most of them around here run on diesel and if you touch the danged thing you will smell like a diesel mechanic for the next week :D. I think the stink actually sticks to you worse than gear oil in an old rear axle :D.
