Hello from LA - for the time being anyway...

Currently living in LA(Louisiana, that is), but have plans to move back to Montana after retirement.

Can't remember how I found this forum, but I'm hooked.

I love to work on cars and plan to build a shop to pursue that hobby when we move. It will also help to keep me out of my wife's hair. I plan on having plenty of room for working on a couple of cars and want to put in a two-post lift. I'm getting too old to lie on my back and pull transmissions, etc. I also want to use it for a ministry to help people that need maintenance/repairs done on their cars, but may not financially able to get it done. That's my plan anyway.

Lots of great ideas, incredible work and dedication to post progress. Can't say how much I enjoy looking over everyone's garages. Even though we're planning on moving, I may have to fix up my current garage for practice.

Welcome! Lots of good stuff on here. Where in Montana are you originally from? Or hoping to move to? I was born in Havre, have lots of family, roots, ties to the Hi-line, lived in Great Falls and then Bozeman in Junior and senior high school before I left for college. I've been wanting to get back ever since! My parents and in-laws all still live in Bozeman but flying jobs are where the big cities are for the most part so that brought me to the Seattle Area where my sister and uncle have also relocated. I grew up wrenching on the family farm and inherited a 31 Model A so thats been my addiction.

I was actually born and raised in Iowa, but lived in Billings for six years. We were transferred up there from Baton Rouge and loved it. Have wanted to go back ever since we left, but that wasn't where my paycheck was showing up. We've actually bought a lot back in Billings, still have lots of friends back there and love to go back to visit whenever we can. Really miss the change of seasons. We bought a 911 when we lived up there and with the wide open spaces and mountain roads, it was perfect. Had to sell it when we started our family, but getting to the point of considering another one. And I'll definitely need a place to work on it, hence my addiction to this forum! Lots of great ideas.

We still think that Montana is one of the best kept secrets around. I won't tell if you won't.
