Hello everyone!
I've only been with Lista for a little over 6 months but am seeing a whole lot of traction on forums and blogs. I just wanted to create a profile so I can chat with people on here, answer any questions and give you thumbs up for using Lista products.

Please don't think of me as big brother, I'm just trying to wrap my head around all the ways people use our cabinets and workstations. Your photos and feedback are fantastic! :bounce:

Linda,

Welcome to the forum. I have a question for you! I have an older cabinet I bought used. I've been trying to get a new lock cylinder and key for it. I thought it was a Vidmar, but they scoured over their old designs and say it's not theirs. Could this be an old Lista cabinet? Sorry I don't have pics of the front at the moment, but I can take some if you think there's a chance this is an old Lista.

I LOVE LISTA~!!! Been using them since I saw them at my second engineering job (early 90s). I now own a bunch of cabinets and one roller.

My roller - dedicated metric and automotive fixit box

The photo below the cabinet against the left wall houses all my power hand tools, wood working stuff and all my English sized tools.
Below is a pic of it, of course this was when i was still getting the garage set up.

Thanks guys! Would it be ok to share these awesome pics on our Facebook page? I created a garage gallery and am putting people's photos in there. I'll give you all the credit! :)
jkeyser14-let me find out about the lock. If you could get a photo of the front of the cabinet that would also really help.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Hi there jkeyser14!
I looked into this and our VP of sales and marketing said that this is not our lock cylinder. However, he's willing to bet that it is one from Rack. They used to be out of Pittsburgh but unfortunatelly went out of business.

I hope this at least helps solve the mystery.

Hi Linda,

Big fan of the cabinets as well. My build has some pics of the few that I've started to collect. Hoping you are working on a buy one get one deal in the future =-)

Linda,

I'd never heard of Lista Cabinets until a couple of days ago. When I visited the website I was dismayed that I could not find a pricing guide. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
stuey is correct, we sell through distributors who individually set pricing. If you'd like to find a local distributor, you can go to http://www.listaintl.com/files/locator.aspx.

But we do have some prices up in listabox.com.

Thank you! I found a local distributor. Your cabinets are absolutely beautiful in the photographs, and I'm sure even more impressive in person.

Hi Linda - you're probably going to get a lot of questions like this, but I thought I'd throw mine in as well. I've gotten great deals on a couple used Lista cabinets. Even though they are a little beat up - especially the green one in the pictures - they are still rock solid and a good paint job from looking as good as new. My question - similar to the ones above - is about the availability of spare parts. As you can see in the pictures, I'm missing a couple drawers, and on one I'm missing the two point deadbolt style latch mechanism and handle that keeps the door latched closed. Both cabinets are the 29" x 29" x 39 1/2" models. If somebody has them available, I would happily buy a couple drawers and a handle/latch. Of course, I'll probably end up paying more for the parts than I paid for the cabinets. Thanks!

Hi Dave,
Let me send this over to our customer service department and see if the parts are still available.

Thanks so much! I can live without the drawers, but the latch and handle would really be helpful. Thanks again for checking!

I received a copy of the Lista catalog via e-mail and while perusing it some of the synapses in my brain started firing, bringing some old memories to light. Does Lista have a contract to sell cabinets to the military? Some of the cabinet and drawer setups, including that blue color, look exactly like many of the storage drawers and benches the carrier I served on had installed back in the late-1980s. The were very durable, heavy duty, and the tech absolutely loved them. Just curious, and if this is the case it is a true testament to the quality of the product.

Good morning! Lista does indeed have a GSA contract. I wouldn't doubt that Lista is what you used back in the good ol' days :)

Thanks for that quick response, Linda.

And yes, when those cabinets were installed, the common reaction was always, "Oooohhhh, these are sweeeeeeeeeet.".

Hi! I got a response...but I'm afraid not one you were hoping to hear. I was told that you have a Generation 1 cabinet that is no longer supported. Our customer service manager is checking with Purchasing to see if we are still able to get the T-handle lock from Germany, but she's afraid that you may be out of luck getting spare parts from Lista.

I'll let you know if I find out anything else.

Thanks so much for checking and getting back to me. I really do appreciate it! There are a couple work arounds I can do, and the cabinet will still be very useful. I very well might be able to find the two point latch somewhere online. Once again, thanks for being part of the board and for following up with me!

Not a problem Dave. I did get a final answer and unfortunatelly we can't get the T-bar anymore :(
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Thanks for the welcome, Marty!
