Hello from Maryland!

I've been visiting this site more and more frequently over the last few years as my Google results and other forums kept leading me here. I don't know why it took me this long to join, but I figured I've been lurking long enough!

This site has been an invaluable resource to me as an avid DIY homeowner and gearhead.

When I'm not at work, I stay busy doing repairs and renovations on the 200+ year old historic home that my wife and I moved into 10 years ago. It's just us, our crazy 4-year-old German Shepherd, and our lazy cat.

With the little spare time I have left, I enjoy working on my cars or mountain biking. I don't have nearly enough money or the space to do what I'd like to do with any of my hobbies yet, but I get by! (Building a garage will hopefully change that!)

This seems like a great community and I'm happy to be a part of it! It is a valuable resource that I have come to rely on over the years. After all, I have GJ to thank for my discovery of:

-Harbor Freight tool chests!!
-Lowe's Clearance Threads
-The nicest collection of workshops/tools/boxes I have ever seen in one place
-Anything and everything I've ever wanted to learn about a bench vise...

What else can I say? I'm happy to be here!

Dave: welcome to the group. so now that you know everything about a bench vise whether you wanted to or not do you own one or more? how about a few pictures of the vise(s) you own or your garage or favorite car or truck? as you might have learned we consider pictures of tools, garages and cars our version of **** as funny as that sounds so feel free to add some color to your thread with a few pictures if you can.
