I decided to join the forum after running across it in many Google searches!
We just purchased a house with enough property to build a good-sized outbuilding (sometimes called a pole barn generally by some), up to about 2600 sq ft.
I have a few constraints, such as having the same style siding as the house (concrete fiber) as well as some rock/stone accents on the road facing portion. For the good news, according to township specs, I can have up to a 40 ft tall building. The property I will be building on is a home site (we bought the adjacent vacant lot to the house). It may be possible to have a multi-level building much like a walkout home. That sounds expensive though!
I am trying to get opinions about construction types - pole, steel, block, etc. for the Michigan climate. I'd like have heat of course, and a bathroom since the site is a fair distance from the house. Anyway, I can provide more details later, this is just an introduction!
