Hello from Michigan

Hello everyone my name is Jon & I am from Michigan, currently living in the Metro Detroit area. I am graduating from college in a couple weeks here and just got a job as an Engineer at a Aerospace/Defense company, which is basically my dream. Pretty blessed to say that I have the job I want right out of college. I will most likely be lurking most of the time, but now that school is done I should hopefully have more time for projects (there are plenty on my to-do list). Seems like there are a lot of knowledgeable members on this forum so I hope to learn a lot!

Congratulations on the upcoming commencement, which school?

My advice for a young wage-earner making decent $ is to now get in the habit of saving money, and don't spend it on a new 4x4, a bass boat, a side-by-side offroad vehicle, or other non-essential toys. Let your savings grow, get good financial investing advice, spread your investments out, and don't take risky chances.

Buy a home in the best area you can afford, stick-to a budget, and save, save, save.

Thanks! My school is Lawrence Tech. Yeah I will be making enough money to save quite a bit, although I am already engaged lol. But my fiancee and I have lived pretty limited lives so far and have saved a good amount of money for our age and we plan to buy a house within the next couple years (hopefully, we want to put a large down payment on one).
