Hello! Happy to join this forum. New homeowner of an old 100-year old Dutch colonial home with a detached, unfinished 2-car garage. Picked up hand tool woodworking over the pandemic, and am looking to semi-finish our detached garage so I have some space to continue the hobby (maybe even add a few power tools into the mix!) Looking forward to being a part of this community!

It sure is. Having a nice space to work in is precious. Even if you don't accomplish anything, it's cool. Show pics of your renovation. We love pics

The proper terms are "troll" and Yupper !

The best thing in my 20'x20' garage is the heavy duty shelf across the back wall. It is about 4' off the floor. It has one support in the center, angled down from the front beam to the rear wall bottom plate. This is built to carry a lot of weight (although in would not store a SBC on it).

I also added another 24" about 1' below the top plate. I use this to store long lumber and lightweight boxes.

Last, adequate electrical both outlets and lighting.
