Just joined looking for ideas and tips to get my shop completed. My wife and I just sold our current house in the city with only a 2 car garage and we bougt a 10 acre place in the country which already had a 64x45 pole barn. So now I am going to document the transformation as this old horse and chicken barn becomes my metal fabrication vintage motorcycle shop/ bar party area.

First thing I am going to do is heat and insulate the work shop room the previous owner built inside the barn. This will be where I set up some stainless steel work top benches, lathe, mill, box and pan brake, Mig and Tig welders, etc. and make this my work room for this winter.
This is a panoramic picture of the barn from the back left corner to show how the shop room they built sits inside the barn.

I will built a staircase here and have a storage area above the work room

Sorry been a while, this extremely cold snowy MN winter has had me scrambling to get things done inside. I have made quite a bit of progress on the inside of my shop/barn
Moved in right before Thanksgiving

Put up some power poles


MAde a loft above my heated shop inside the barn for storage

started organizing and insulating the heated shop space

put in a door for my heated shop

bought a beer fridge

converted one of the horse stalls into lower bike storage and a sitting deck on top

Started making some cool vintage style american flags to decorate the place
