Hello all. I found this site while searching the net for 2 post lift information.I have a 24x42 garage I built about 10 years ago but with my wife parking in there and all the stuff I got crammed in there like lawn mower power washer generator pellet stove and allot of other stuff I just dont have room for the projects. Was looking at lifts but when I had my floor poured they did a fiber pour with no rebar. Everything I read says you must have rebar in your concrete for a lift. My projects consist of a 1978 cj7 jeep,A 1961 ford F-100 unibody and a 1968 mustang coupe. So now I am kicking the idea around of building about an 18x22 garage for just my projects to work on. I stopped my lumber yard today and they are figuring up a material cost for one with 12' ceiling. Nice meeting you all and I will be hanging around here getting some ideas if you all dont mind.

Welcome to the GJ. Good luck with the possible new shop and post pictures of the build if you go that way.

I'm from MO, about an hr West of St. Louis off 44. On your lift some allow for a steel spreader plate. You might not have to build new?

If your site allows it would be cheaper to just add another bay onto the existing shop on the gable end. If this is a PoleBarn, very easy to do. You likely already have power, access, etc there.

YM: there are plenty of threads to read on this forum and now that you are member you can maybe find a member's thread that has a similar set up to the one you are asking about and ask a question on that thread.

good luck and welcome to our group and hope you stick around. also let us know what you found out if you find your answers.

I am 2 hours west of St Louis.I am in Steelville. I thought about adding onto my garage but its not a good set up for it.

That was my Great Uncle George's son, so a 3rd cousin? My grandparents had a dairy farm on Brush Creek north of Cuba.

Hello and welcome from Ohio! Could you reference "everything I've read says you must have rebar" for a lift? Thanks and again, welcome.
