Hello Folks.
I am a retired Brewery Worker from New Jersey. I have a new found interest in tools and Garage Journal has been a great resource for identifying a few strange and unique tools. I figured that I might as well sign up and say hello. Hopefully I will be able to offer help to others somewhere down the road.

As a Brewery worker I collected and sold unique beer bottles. I took ill and the bottle collecting was put aside for a while. I became a medical marijuana paitent a year ago and it has given me my life back..The problem is insurance does not cover medical marijuana. It cost about 500 a month that I don’t have.
So back to selling my hoard of old Bud bottles. The problem is that the market changed. New aluminum bottles with bright logos and Graphics changes the game and glass bottles are not worth the effort. I had to find a plan B

Plan B was to raid my Dads tool box. Dad is doing well in Florida and when he moved I took possession of his tool box.
My father graduated from General Motors institute in the early 1950s. He quickly moved up to service manager and by early 1960s he became a auto insurance adjuster. The tools went largely unused except for repairs on the family auto..

I have been slowly selling off some of the tools that I have of my own or some that I would have no practical use for. Here’s were it gets interesting.

Rooting thru my Dads old tools I realized it told a story. A young mechanic, low on money had,to stock his tool box. An assortment of various Snap-on tools, some Blue Point wrenches and a,wide assortment of vintage wrenches, sockets, and specialty tools.
I came across a Snap-On carburator guage. I had seen it dozens of times over my 60 years and never paid it much attention. This time I looked it up and found that it was specific to a Chevy. Right then and there I had a different view of these tools. How cool is it that there are tools that have only 1 purpose..unlike a adjustable Crescent wrench which can be used in a variety of situiations.
So now I,still have to sell some tools but I have started collecting some of those one use type tools..

Thanks for all the help that I have recieved so far. In time I hope to be able to repay the favor.

As I said earlier Medical Marijuana gave me my life back. I am so great full to have a new start on life. I feel that there must be a bigger reason that I got this chance and I feel a need,to share my story so others may benefit.
If you are interested in more info on how Medical Marijuana gave,me my life back just send me a message thru this sight.
Live for today because we never know what is in the cards for tomorrow

Hello Shurtee

You were in the old Bud plant?
Now you can concentrate on a different kind of Bud plant?!?! I'm in Warren County, and am aware of the NJ fight on medical and making it more accessible for qualified people. Recreational is a whole different ballgame. My job forbids BOTH, so I'm just out of luck.
But tools are a great thing. I've got most of the Matco and Snap-On i bought 30 years ago when i was 20 working on school buses. I love all my tools and remember buying almost each one of them.
