Just wanted to say hello, and thanks to the members here for information that helped me finish my new garage/barn/shop, especially with regards to proper lighting and heat.

I added a few photos; it's pretty small, only about 20 feet square. I cut the frame myself between the summers of 2010-2011, raised the frame in the fall, and had it about finished around Xmas 2011. Well, mostly finished, as I'm still adding to and tweaking it, don't think that process will end anytime soon...

This place really is a great resource, hopefully someday I'll be able to contribute something that can help someone else out.

Yup, all back together, that was from earlier this summer. Now that the car's put away for the winter, it'll be the suspension's turn to get taken apart...so glad I put heat in the shop!

What did you do for a floor in there?

Floor is 2 layers of 1" rough-sawn pine boards (with the grain of the two layers oriented perpendicular to each other) over 2x8" joists on 12" centers, backed up by a series of sleepers that run the length of the floor.

It was cheap (helped that I already had much of the material), it's appropriate to the building, and it's solid. Plus I just like a wood floor.
