Hi guys, my name is JP. I live in NJ. I have 4 almost 5 BMW's, it's kinda my thing.

I'm excited to be able to plan a new garage build.

I found the guys at ShedsUnlimited, who make pre-fab buildings. For $23K I can get a 28'x50' building. I'd still have to factor in concrete, tree removal and driveway shenanigans.

Anyone have experience with ShedsUnlimited?

My plan is to at least have a two-post lift and ideally a four post for extra car storage. I don't think I'll be able to add running water, but the garage will definitely have electric.

Welcome to the GJ, from Brenham TX (hour NW of Houston). BMW fan myself, first one in 1986, over a dozen since. Currently driving a 2016 550i M-Sport. Used to autocross and rally in them, but those days are gone {sigh}.

Are you also a member of Bimmerfest?

Here is an upload of version 1 of a 28x50 I am thinking of. Suggestions or layout feedback is welcome.

I figured planning for a 4 post to put in the back corner is a good idea. I definitely will start with a 2 post "day 1". I still need to plan for lighting.

My 86 was a 325es, the infamous eta engine. It was a great car.

Your M5 is the E39. LOVED that car. I had bought a 1998 540i E39, that was my favorite at the time. When the E39 was ending its run in 2003, to be replaced with the E60, I loved my 540 so much, I wanted to get a new one. I bought an E39 540 M-Sport in the last production run before they changed over to E60 production.. Then I had Dinan put most everything on it they could. That was probably the best BMW I ever had. There have been fancier ones, and more powerful ones, but that car had soul. Loved it. Kept it longer than any car I'd ever had, before or since.

You have quite a collection. Good luck with your new shop!

Ha! You don't really run into many eta cars today. Mostly 'i's'.

Was your Dinan E39 supercharged too?

The eta was an odd duck. They only made it for 3-4 years, never to return.

My 540 was not supercharged. I did have engine mods (cold air intake, etc), boosting HP from 280 to about 340. I had it dyno'ed to find out. Hard to believe 280 was the HP from a V8. Now I get 450HP out of a twin-turbo V8.

I like the old 2002's and anything that comes in a "wagon" and "fast" flavor.

This wagon is not that fast, but I like it.

Oh Yes!

Bimmers are my next "thing" to get into this year.

How long have you been riding for? That bike is in great shape!

I bought this bike as a weekend cruiser, it was in very good shape with very little I needed to do to it. I do all the maintenance on this and its my love. Its a first or second kick starting bike, can literally sit for a month and still fires. It blows me away how reliable this old bike is.

Welcome. Nice collection you have there. I have a thing for BMWs, too, but I lean towards the older ones. Looking forward to seeing your build.
