Thanks for the welcome. I started lurking in the shadows a while back, looking for ideas for my shop. I have a small 21x20 shop with a small workshop in the back and a real crappy enclosed car port on front. I have been running a small motorcycle repair shop out of it for about 18 yrs. I am into motorcycles & deer hunting. I attached a pic of the inside of my abode. and a pic of my girlfriend.....well....one of em.

Chris: your shop looks great and thanks for sharing a few pictures. i'm assuming your girlfriend is your honda? i love Honda engines and all my vehicles have 4 wheels.

I hope you are enjoying the reading and if you have any questions on a thread just ask so you can maybe pull a little wisdom out of some of the great minds on this forum. also if you have something to add please do because i'm sure the guys would like to know some of what you know.

It looks like you maybe fix all brands of motorcycles or do you specialize in just a few of them?

also if you have any questions about how to use the forum just ask here and one of us will try to help.

drivesitfar, thanks for extending the warm welcome. Yes my Honda is my girlfriend and I have a few of them. I do work on all models and types, dirt, street, track. Whatever pays the stinky green. I have been enjoying the forum, the garage rebuilds, and different ideas from the other forum members & how they build, store, use their tools & shops. I did a minor shop rebuild myself and will need to dig up pics of before & after to post up.
And by the way, I really dig your Welding table build. I was going to duplicate your table, but to my size needs. I think it was your table build I found on the net that linked me to here...........

SPR: just and FYI. i'm making a few design changes to my table because i'm finding different materials now that i know some of the tubing i was going to use is stainless.

i'm leaning more towards this table if i can get my client's 3 x 3 steel tubing he has sitting in his warehouse. it's only 26 x 63 inches so should fit in even my small garage that is smaller than yours if i need it there. i'm also going to most likely add these parts holders because it will probably be used as a regular bench and tool box more than welding to start out with. i'm also not putting on the casters for now since i have a pallet jack at that shop i lease to move the tables if i need to.

is it a good thing to have girlfriends that can't talk back or are yours more expensive?

I was going to fab mine out of heavy wall 2x2 tubing. I used to be a welder by trade but got out of it for many years. I have all the equipment and while working on a custom build with a friend, I needed to fire up the torches & welder. I forgot how much I loved welding. I actually scored a rolling cart plenty heavy enough and large enough for the time being. HOWEVER, as I increase the shop size, I will look to building a larger table, like your design.

as for my "girlfriends" being expensive.......if they ******* or wheels, you know they are gonna cost ya money!
