Hello from Ohio!

New member from Ohio! I've been 'lurking' around here for quite some time (since 2012, I believe), and now it's time to get serious! I'm ready to enhance my two car, attached garage to accommodate a motorcycle workshop. The workshop will need to be designed in a manner that will continue to allow two cars to be parked during the long, cold winter months here in Northeast Ohio.

The shop will be used for two bikes that I own: a 2009 Ducati 848 that I really enjoy working on (and riding), and a 2005 Suzuki SV650S that never breaks (it still needs the routine maintenance TLC stuff, though)! I mostly ride on various tracks here in my region (Nelson Ledges, Mid-Ohio and PittRace), but occasionally will go out for a street ride or two before and/or after the regular track riding season.

I look forward to getting some fresh, tested ideas here.

Here's a recent pic that sort of shows my delimma. Two of the three family cars not pictured here utilize the garage for parking throughout the Winter months. During track riding season (April-October for me), I typically leave my track bike on an open trailer and store it in the garage between track days.

I'll put something better together in a separate thread once I have a clearer idea of which direction I'm gonna go. I might even document the project with my video camera, and add a 'Garage' section on my YouTube page...

You can see in the pic that the garage is a 2-car attached unit. Drawings list it as 20' 8" X 20' 8". I did the floor with an over-the-counter epoxy about 7 years ago. It looked pretty good for a while, but I believe my prep (or some of the crazy winters we've had), contributed to it's demise over the past couple of years. For my upcoming project, new flooring, insulation, heat, additional electrical outlets and lighting, along with general work area layout are all on the table. I really like the way ekraft84 did his in-floor motorcycle lift and I might try to budget something similar as well.
