Hi all, I'm Andrew and I'm from Pittsburgh PA. I am currently living right outside the city (approximately 15minutes) in Shaler Township. I originally found this forum a few years back when I was starting in the planning phase for a garage one day. I have been lurking for a few years now, staying up late at night and spending lunch breaks at work gathering ideas and writing everything I could find down. In addition, I am also 23 years old.
I work Full time for a Company that specializes in Long Term Nursing Homes as a Network Administrator in the Information Technology Department.
During the evenings and some weekends I am also a USA registered competitive swimming coach for ages 12 and under.
During the summer Months I occasionally lifeguard and act as assistant manager at a local private swim club.
I am proud to say that I have saved up enough the past few years to finally purchase a building and have a shop to just myself. The building will be constructed by Pioneer Pole Buildings. I have signed the contract, and just obtained my building permit yesterday from the township!
Building Highlights:
24 deep x 36 across x 12 ft ceiling height.
Poles are 8' on center.
standard 4/12 trusses being placed 2' on center.
1' overhang on both gable and eave ends.
Snow guards on both Eaves
Ridge vent across the top
Double bubble vapor barrier for the roof.
Full gutter and downspout setup
barrier tape around the perimeter.
Plan is to have a 5" concrete floor poured shortly after the building is up
2 10' high by 12' wide garage doors evenly spaced 4' off eaves end wall and 4' between each doors.
Both overhead doors and the single man door are insulated.
I would love to have a bigger shop of course, but this is physically the largest building I can put on my property given my local zoning restrictions and the way the property is laid out. I am still more than stoked to accomplish a task of this magnitude at my age just right out of college. I owe this forum all the credit. Every Inch of this building has been researched in some way shape or form using this forum the past few years, so thank you all!
I will be posting pictures later on of the Building plans and such when I have time. Any questions fire them my way and I will do my best to answer them!
