Hey all, I bought my first house about 5 years ago and I've been thinking about adding a garage almost ever since. I like to do stuff myself and learn a bit of everything. I'm almost finished with the basement, so garage is next in line.

I'd like to have an attached and heated garage. I did look at city rules and max I could do is around 15ft wide, since neighbor isn't really far, by a maximum of 40ft long and I should be able to get 10ft ceiling. I do my own car maintenances, I don't know if its going width is enough to work on cars. Unless I'm working on it, car is probably going to stay outside even during the winter.

So, I'm going to lurk around for a bit and probably make a thread with few measures/plans to get ideas and see what people think.

Thanks!

Welcome from just north of Toronto!

15 feet is wide enough to work on a car as long as you don't pile any stuff along the side walls. But more is obviously better.
