My work: import & export all kind of goods from China to Russia and from China to worldwide. Service - make business contacts with Chines supplyers, Search products in China, chinese translator.

Welcome from East Texas! You may find a bit of a bias against Chinese products, specifically tools, here that are based on quality, economic and even patriotic terms.

Please don't let this deter you from offering your views and experience.

Are there any Russian tools that we might take note of?

Also curious about Russian (or older, USSR) tools... wonder if (like here) the older stuff was usually better. I suspect (like here in the US and also in Italy) there is a bias (usually by the older crowd) there is a bias toward "Made Locally" rather than in Asia... but it's a mystery... and being in the import/export business you would maybe know firsthand.

FUZI: i personally know China can make some of the highest quality products on the planet and would like to hear your take on that. anything in particular you'd like to mention.

i know a lot of the imported Chinese tools that arrive here in the US are the lower grade variety because that is what the importers are buying because it sells.

your opinion would be needed, but you'll get some opposition that is for certain.

welcome to our group and i for one am hoping to learn a few things from you if i see some of your posts.

Hi Bruce! I have notging bad about chinese tools. Yea i know a lot about different quality of chinese products. They do from bad till exelent quality for different world markets. Several years ago i worked in Belarus in energy company and we bought a lot of high voltage equipments for Belarus state grid like high voltage transfomers, switchers, relays its quality is very high.

Hi Lassen Forge! Yes you are right the quality of tools witch had made in USSR period was very high. Even now you can find private advts where sales tools made from USSR and the price is higher than new tools whitch you can buy in tools markets.
You can also buy high quality tools with text made in russia but it did not produce in russia it just brand was registrated in Russia and tools are from China.

drivesitfar , that your phrase -"cause that is what the importers are buying because it sells" - is the answer the question! It same in Russia. The importers wants buy cheeper and sale more expansive as possible.
