I've just completed a budget resto on my old Craftsman rollaway, and a couple people said I should check out this site ... and I'm glad I did, it's really cool!

thanks all! Not sure of the date, but I'd guess late 40's early 50's by the logos and also the paperwork i found stuffed inside. looks like it belonged to a machinist at the Hunt Brothers Cannery in Haywood (California). He retired in the mid 60's and was buying a plot of land in a very rural (back then) Fremont.

I did this box on a budget, apart from chrome handles the rest of the rollaway was painted with rustoleum and "resurfaced" with an angle grinder.

thats the emblem johnny ... thanks again for that. i made a mistake with the original one and washed it in soap and water and the red ink came off. lesson learned.

I am glad you joined up! this place kicks some serious a$$. your tool box came out great, definitely worth the effort and wait on the emblem, JBW
