Hi, been lurking around for several weeks and read a lot of interesting threads. I'm retired from doing electrical work for a U.S. government facility since April 2015. I enjoy building and fixing things, and working on small tractors. My shop is a 12'x 24' shed garage that I was working out of for years. Last December I made plans for the construction of a 26'x 36' pole building, workshop with two 9'x 8' overhead doors, one 3' man door, 10' wall, and concrete floor. This building will be fully insulated. The electrical work I would do myself since I did electrical work for a living for many years. My 12'x 24' garage is to small for my needs and I will use it for storage only, and the new building for general workshop and tractor parking.
I hope to start construction this month after working out permit details with the township. I got to stay under 1000 sq. ft. because of Stormwater management rules here.

THF,

I am not far from you in 19520. I did a bigger building and had to do the stormwater stuff. If you have the space to go bigger, I would very much recommend you try to do so.

My original plans was a 24'x 30' building, but up it to 26'x 36'.
My property is a little under 1/2 acre, so I'm limited on size. I already have a 12'x 24' building to use for storage and move my shop to the bigger building. I will not store cars in the new building because of township zoning and the requirement for a driveway, which will qualify me for Stormwater management which will be about $15 grand for a paved driveway and a drainfield. My main purpose for this building is for a workshop for building stuff. Now that I'm retired and getting a pension, I have limited spending. Everybody say, they fill up fast.
