Have been lurking for a bit and decided to join and say hello.

Currently reside North of Seattle and have been bit with the tool bug.

Have been doing small projects around the house and most recently helped install a new front door. Miter saws have been on my radar and now I feel like I must have one...

problem is which one do I go with. Dewalt DW715 or DW713 are front runners in my mind based on reviews and recommendations. But I haven't decided if I really need all of that yet. I am not in construction so I would not be using it all of the time. Very amateur but like to learn.

I plan on looking and learning a lot and look forward to being part of the community.

Rah: you might want to put your location in your profile so when you get on other threads members will know where you are located.

i'm not too far from you, but i don't have the answer to your chop saw question. i used a Makita 10 incher for 25 years until a young member asked if he could buy it for $40 so it's his now and it just keeps working. if you want a compound and one to make bigger cuts i know they are available and I've just never needed one because i have a chainsaw, sawsall and hand saws.

welcome to our group and i usually hang in old tools threads so hope to see you there or ask questions here if you need help because i'm trying to help new members too.
