Hi everyone. I'm checking in from St. Louis. I like checking out forums to see what the experts have to say.

I'm here to learn, mostly about basic DIY things, like how to and tools I'll need, so I won't likely chime in a whole lot. Looking forward to learning.

Welcome fellow St. Louis resident. I'm fairly new here myself. But I have read and learned a lot already. So much tool **** every where. Also a lot of how to's as well.

Stanimal where are you now?

Thanks everyone. I'm also trying to build a tool set and skill sets relevant to the vehicles in my family - 02 4Runner and 07 Jeep. Mostly oil changes, brakes, fuses, other fluids, and eventually trail repairs for the 4Runner should something break while it's off-road (the Jeep is hers, so it doesn't go and get 'dirty').

Of course, I get on a site like this and start getting garage/tool/box envy and my wallet cringes in fear. I have to try to control myself :willy_nil

Highlux I dig that name. Too bad they aren't sold here, right?

I might take you up on that offer at some point... right now just doing simple things, like a Satoshi Grille mod, CB install, Taco whip antenna mod, but will eventually be putting on a CBI rear bumper and then a front bull bar (probably Shrockworks). Those, I will be needing a hand with!

Satoshi mod....showing me what other forums you go to....lol.

I have a 87 4runner,99 4runner, 2001 Tacoma, and 1981 Trekker.
You could say I like Toyota's.

Richmond Heights here (across the street and a block from Clayton) with, among other rides, a 2001 Tacoma Double Cab 4WD TRD, with ARB bullbar, OME suspension, a few other modest upgrades and mods.

Bellevue by Hwy 40. I pass GLB every day and it's always a treat to see the intersting cars there -- some of the most eclectic vintage imports in the area.
Stop in and say hello , tell them Stan sent you .

I might have seen your rig before. Have you checked out MO4WD? It's a pretty good forum with a lot of local StL guys.

Mine is an '02 4Runner with OME front/rear, TRD Supercharger and 265/75's. Nothing else added yet but looking forward to it in the next year.

Where did you get the ARB bar installed? That's one mod that may be way past my abilities.

It's really not that bad to install. If you get it I could probably have you stop by Ranken and I'd do it for free.

If DK87 will help put on your bullbar, TJM2, take him up on it.

I put my bullbar on myself, solo. It's really not very hard. The thing that took the most time was upgrading Weather Pack connectors to make sure the indicator wiring stayed dry. No winch on mine, so the frame end cap mod and winch wiring weren't needed.

I can't recall -- does a 2002 4Runner have its own ARB bullbar or is it an adapted Tacoma model? There might be a little more fettling to get it to fit if it's not model-specific. But nuthin' that can't be done in a couple of hours for a car that's never been hit.

Wow that's beautiful. The 4Runner uses the Tacoma bar. I'm still deciding if it will be ARB or shrockworks though. I think either way you have to cut off about 2" of the frame where the original bumper mounted.

DK87 I will definitely take you up on that!

I'm a big fan of ARB -- I've been running one of their bullbars for almost twenty years, first on an XJ and now the Tacoma, too.

Some of the vendors, such as Wil at Sierra Expeditions, will offer free shipping from time to time. This can be a big help. They occasionally turn up used on other forums such as ExPo.
