Hey all thought I better post up an introduction as I have spent quite a few hour so far reading so many great threads.

So I am in the process of building a garage and came across this website to steal ideas err I mean see all the great builds.

My proposed shed (or garage if you prefer) is going to be 7M x 9M (22.9ft x 29.5ft) I am eventually going to get a hoist installed as well. No time frame yet as I am waiting on a car to sell to fund it and I'm due to have heart surgery basically any day now (another reason I joined...needed the distraction).

Any way hi to every one that reads this

Welcome aboard wraith666. I'll start by saying that's a very interesting handle you've chosen. This is the place to share your build and get a lot of input from others.
What's with the heart surgery? They usually don't wait to do that sort of thing unless it's not a critical situation. Start posting some pictures of your surroundings and plans of your build. You'll have a big following very soon........Dan

I really wasn't planning on posting so I went with my usual gaming handle (probably should of re joined with a more appropriate one but didn't know how the mods etc would feel about that) but it felt too rude to peruse so many great threads and not let them know I enjoyed it and also join in with discussions.

I have a bicuspid valve and the surgeon wants to replace it sooner rather then later as I am at an age (under 30) that will make recovery a lot easier then if we waited.

Will get a thread and some pictures as soon as something starts happening. At the moment everything is hinging on this car selling.

Edit: Hm wonder if I can convince a mod to change my name to something a bit better. If a mod sees this feel free to change my name to Andyroo

Nothing wrong with the handle, just found it interesting as a lot of folks may be freaked out by such a handle. I've had folks here mention that they don't like my avatar as it makes them think I'm a thug.

What part of QLD do you call home?

Welcome to the GJ. Did you know we have an Aussie Kiwi Social group ? Let me know if you would like to be part of it.

You are stuck with that name. It can not be changed and if you join again under another name you will be banned as it is not liked when you have two log on names.

Sorry Hotfr8, I'll look back. there was another member that got his handle changed. I think he started off with Lefty and had it changed. I will have to see what he goes by now. Not sure, but I think Ryan did it for him. I think it was mmb617. Not trying to be an ***, I remember talking to him about it.

I am sorry. I didn't know. And I was just stating that I knew of a case that it did happen. I certainly was not challenging your words or wisdom. I expect that we'll be crossing paths a lot more in the future as I have gotten involved with you crazy blokes from down under. Sincerely sorry for the post that questioned your statement.

No projects completed. Everything is just waiting on funds. Soon as I have the first bit of cash I will be moving the current single opening access door fence forward with a big double opening with access door in line with the front of the house. house. Might see if I can get a picture to give an idea.

Cash can get in the way of so many things. I certainly understand what you mean.

Thank you both:bowdown:

It's easy to speak the truth. See my sig line. I'd rather think that I live by that as much as life will allow one to.:)

wraith666,
G'day, G'day, so how ya goin, watcha doin?
So what is the basic starting platform, got any pics of now before you start digging. What are you interests? cars, bikes, wood, darts, paper wad spiting?
Is the surgery going to take long?
See, you have lots to tell, everyone has a different perspective and it is so great to see things from another angle.

I will get some starter pics tomorrow assuming the damn lawn gets mowed by the teenager like they were supposed to this weekend *grumble grumble*.

I am an IT guy although I'm a bit burnt out by that industry at the moment.

Car guy to thus the need for a kick *** shed (will be getting a hoist put in as soon as I can) so the wife and I can get a project car going. Have had a pretty nice car in the past but without a nice undercover place for it to live it quickly deteriorated in the elements.

Heart surgery is full on valve replacement and something else to do with my aorta. Will be minimum 3 months for the breast bone to heal then how ever long till I feel normal again.

Unemployed at the moment and waiting for surgery is doing me no favours. Luckily I get Centrelink and am medical exempt from working so makes life a little easier.

Welcome to the site. What's the car you're selling? Should chuck up a photo, never know who's in the market. Especially if it's a HJ Coupe like your avatar might suggest.

That's a dream car. Long way off yet. It's just a VZ V8 Berlina I am trying to get rid of. Tough market though because I haven't boganised it by slamming it and having a straight through exhaust.

Finally got the lawn tidied up so the backyard isn't embarrassing. Epic paint skills. That's 9M x7M (shed will be 6 but I always think 7) 30 feet by 20 feet for the non metric people. Should be more then enough.

Yeah I am very much a visual person and seeing it laid out like that was pretty interesting. As you can see I still have a fair bit of room all around it for future expansion if I ever feel the need.

Now to some how fund this thing.

Hey wraith, what've you been up to? It's been a couple of weeks since we heard from you.

Oops, my bad for not looking. That should make a nice shop for you. And you already have a garage cat.
