Hello people of GJ!
I appologise if this may be a long winded intro!
My name is Steven (Koosh to most however) and i live near Edinburgh in good old Scotland! i like cars and tools!
I have been an on and off reader of this forum for a while now! in 2009 when i was 22 i purchased my first house and i used the forum a little bit to try and get ideas for a garage i was going to build (pictures below). i used the forum to try and get inspiration for a garage and what to fill it with! i mainly just looked at all the pretty pictures and got envious of the American Style and size!
i was reintroduced a few months ago when Sakurama's house/garage build was posted on build threads and i was completely engrossed in it! have been back on the forum just casually browsing every now and again so i thought it time i now join!
the house i currently live in has no garage nor the space to have a garage unfortunately, however once my girlfriend is done with university we will definitely be moving and a garage (or space at least) will be very very near the top of the list of musts!
so now for less words and more pictures!
this was the garage at my first house. the old "garage" was barely standing so i decided a new wooden garage with new concrete slab would be the best answer! the plan was to build the slab slightly larger than the garage was to be so i could, in a few years, start to build blockwork around the wooden garage and then demolish the wooden garage from inside making it more permanant! alas the old female companion threw a curveball, left me and i have since moved away from this house and moved in with a lovely American female!
so this is what i was left with by the previous tennants
it was swifty taken down with brute force
and a plan was hatched for a wooden garage to be built off site
a new corcrete slab (slightly larger than previous
and the new garage was brought in and bolted together in around 45 minutes!
which was used to house a few cars in its time including my old golf carbio and my porsche boxster
as mentioned i have moved away from this house (still own it and rent it out, the garage is now being used an a "man-cave" by the new tennant) and i have a house with no garage or any space so all work on my 2 cars is now down out in the good old Scottish weather....
so there we go, my life story it may seem... cant wait to start looking for a house with a decent garage and i look forward to posting all over this place!
