Hi Folks,

Jason here from Cambridge Ontario.

I just bought our second home and second garage. The garage in our new place is the same as the old place, 10 x 20 attached. Not ideal, or even close to my dream garage, but I am sure I can make it work. The only diffenece is the ceiling hight, the new place is a story and a half high.

I am a dedicated car guy, and love to tinker with my 74 Plymouth Cuda. So the garage will be set up as a place to work and park the car.

My imediate plans for the new place after we close in early May, are to put in a man door to the outside, there is no door in to the house, which I am fine with. I would also like to install a good size window in the back or side wall to brightem things up a bit.

After that I will add some additonal elecrtical outlets and finish the inside (drywall etc). Not sure what to do witht ceiling yet as it is so high, but I am sure there is a good way to put soem extra storage space there.

Given that I am short on work space, I am alos planing to put up a 10 X 16 (or so) garden shed in the back yard, that will have a seperate storage section for the kids bickes etc and a work space for me.

If you have any ideas or places to get plans for a nice garden shed, or thoughts on the prefab kits, you can by at home depot etc. I would love the her them.

I look forward pursuing this site and seeing some of the ideas for small spaces.

Jason

Welcome to GJ from a fellow Canuck.

I am in essentially the same boat as you. I live in ON, have a 10x20 and needed a shed.

After looking around at all my shed options, I figured I could build a better shed and cheaper than what was offered. I ordered plans from these guys.

I can say the plans were great and the shed came out great....way better and cheaper than anything out there. I was able to customize materials to my liking as well. I built a 10x10 to avoid the necessary permits. All the garden stuff, bikes, skis, etc. is now in the shed providing me with precious extra room in my 10x20 garage.

Good luck with your project.
