I am Chris and live near the famous ring - it has more km than my way to it - praise the lord
Me and my buddies like to work on our cars and go into the Eifel to use em.
I like tools since I was a kid, my dad was a farmer and there was always some good German steel and a mighty ancient cast iron vise to play with. My grand uncle teached my dad around 45 years ago that there is no alternative to quality tools by buying him his first good 1/2" ratchet set (12 Point Sockets 8mm-36mm). The ratchet got exchanged in the late 80ies and 2 sockets got lost but it is still our main set that gets the job done. My grandfather was very different he bought 99% ****, drills that only glow, sockets that break easy in my hands. Illustrative material
To start my own tool collection I bought some old stuff from the german armed forces. 3/8" Elora drive/connecting components with an all steel american style ratchet, a metal toolbox, hammers, pliers, etc. Second to that some new Stahlwille hex (12P), inhex, torx and xzn sockets which were very expensive but I am sure they last longer than myself. Gedore torque wrench, 1/2" Ryobi impact wrench, long 1/2" KS Tools impact nuts,etc.
At the time I want get some 3/8" ratchets, big ones, small ones,... I also read about 3/8" ones in 1/4" bodies but I never saw one in germany. Except some car cleaning stuff I do not think that I own anything made in the USA. This can not be, my mind says first some tools, later a C6 Z06 trackweapon
