Hello From The Motor City

My name is Dan, I'm from the suburbs of Detroit. I've been in the auto business for nearly forty years. Started out on the service/restoration end of the business, mechanical, body and paint. For the last twenty years I have been doing automotive development, fabricating/modifying test parts and vehicles.

I always have one or three things going on in my shop. I like restoring tools, machines and anything that has some practicle purpose. At this time I am building a camper truck. This is a 1970's Jeep J20 pickup with a short wheel base and a custom camper shell built on the original bed.

I hope to show pictures at some point if I can figure the process out.

This is a picture of a Parker No.207 vise I got last weekend it weighs about 150lbs. and is in fairly good shape. I hope I got this picture right, it's my first attempt.

Threepiece: you sound like a great guy and coming to the forum with a lot of skills i wish i possessed. picture of the big Parker you posted looks great. i have seen you post a couple times on the vise thread where i usually am at some time during the day along with a couple other tool and garage threads.

i'm sure we can learn a lot from you and if you have any questions and can't find an answer just ask on a thread that is talking about it or PM me and i'll try to help if I can since you are a new member.
