Hello All, found this site whilst looking for info on some older Snap On Boxes I'm Buying (KR637/657 Combos). And yes, I claim to be from both the UK and California. I live in the UK (and I'm a brit) but we're moving to the USA in the next couple of years. Already got 7.5 acres in State Of Jefferson country (Siskiyou County,CA) where we're building a Garage and House
Originally I was a Royal Air Force Airframe Tech (includes Hydraulics, Pneumatics Air Con & Pressurization) on both Fixed and Rotary wing. I've taken apart (and sometimes put back together) most military aircraft from a Tiger Moth to a 747 in size and Tiger Moth to Tornado in Time of design.
Spent a few years in the Motor Trade for myself, mostly Paint & Body, but Mechanical repair paid the bills & Modification made it fun. Also spent a few years in electronics engineering and Mechanical engineering.
Most interesting mechanical engineering thing I've done was manufacturing from bar stock, the machines that make up & package the little moist tissues like you get on an airplane. These were entirely mechanically timed and sequenced, only electrical things were the die heaters for the packaging and the electrical motor for the drive.
Now do the Mechanical thing for fun as Managing an International Airport Terminal pays way better. If it's mechanical, I can take it apart, fix it and put it back together. Current projects are Custom Bikes & Classic Cars. I'll post many pics of these over time. I also enjoy major construction projects so the Garage & House will mostly be self built, I've already built 3 Garages and a Shed for practice.
