I've got my my walls up, with posts to support a 4 ply 14" ridge beam. I failed to properly account for a slight slope in the slab (we were aiming for level) which means the height of all my walls is relative to the slab. Now with the posts up and we prepare to raise the beam, the laser tells me out from end to end (28') by about half-an-inch.
Given that the wall height is relative to the slab as well, do I leave it and have a consistent rafter pattern end-to-end, or do I shim the beam and aim for level? If so, what can I shim with?
