Hi,
In the next 3-6 months I will build a 30x60 pole barn shop just east of Tulsa. I've been wanting a shop for around 20 years now, and despite having the funds ear-marked for many years, I have just been putting it off. However, I figure that I might as well build the shop now, while I am still relatively young and I can enjoy it.

I've seen several builders in the Tulsa area mentioned here, and other undisclosed hints at who to avoid. If you know of a builder to avoid, please PM me the name of the builder. From the local news I know there have been several pole-barn scams in the area (take the down payment, start the job, then disappear), so I obviously want to avoid those scammers right from the start.

The shop I am building will be a 30x60 with possibly a 10-foot lean to/porch on the south side. The porch area will just have a dirt floor, but I might put gravel or pavers underneath it later. I eventually would like to put a 2-post lift in the shop, and I am thinking of a 12 or 14 foot pole height length to make that possible. I take it that everyone would recommend a 6" concrete slab as well?

Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.
