Hello from upstate NY

Been lurking a few weeks, (think I stumbled across this forum during a google search for something) finally overcame the resistance to join another forum - think this makes #7. So much great stuff in here.!! Can't believe some the structures I see posted up, man, gives me alot of ideas....... Some of you guys should offer tours!

I'm currently planning out my garage, 32x40 with radiant heat and an attic trussed front half with sissored back half (plans for lift). We've lived in our present location for about 7 years and the attached 1.5 car garage has never had a car in it!! Wife has been real impressed with that!! But she was less impressed when I presented the alternative to getting her car in the garage..... all the tools would come into the living room

I'm into ATV's, sleds, trucks, metal fab work, welding, electrical wiring, home repair/remodel. The typical jack of all trades kinda deal. Hope to be able to help some others on this forum in return for all the questions I'm sure to ask!

I grew up in the South Kortright/Stamford area. Nice area, but I don't miss having to thaw out the car every winter morning. Had a barn, not a real garage back then.

Walt - Seems like alot of NY'ers head down the the Carolinas. The snow covered cars never bothered me, I kinda enjoy the cold!
Ken - I'm right over the hills from you, in the big city of bainbridge. I work in Oneonta and travel often to Delhi, usually via Rt23 or Case Hill (to Treadwell), I've been known to wander many back roads as well.... but I dont recall seeing your garage in any of my travels. From some of your pictures, looks like you're off the beaten path a ways.

Any chance you might have been a student of mine in the industrial art programs at Stamford or SK? Taught in SK from 76-79 and then Stamford 80-88. From there went to the Occupational Center (Carpentry/Cabinetmaking program) 89-99.
