Just joined up yesterday after browsing the site for a few weeks.

My wife and I just moved into a new place that has a 1400sqft steel building workshop.
Lots of great info here that I'm sure will come in handy.

The shop currently has a 2 post lift, 80g IR compressor, parts washer, sand blasting cabinet and a portable blaster.
Im excited as this is the first place we've had with a garage.

Congrats on the new place and can you post any pictures of it? if you have high enough ceilings you might want to look for some nice used commercial racks like Home Depot and Costco have their products on to get you some great storage off the floor.

welcome to the group and ask questions if you need any help

I don't really have any good pics of the place I'll take some tonight.
I planned on putting up some 6' steel shelf units. I don't really want anything crazy tall but I guess it would use the space more efficiently.

Welcome to the GJ one fast snake. You have a very interesting handle. Would love to hear the explanation for that someday. Hope you enjoy all the GJ has to offer, and please add your 2 cents whenever you can.

I have 14 foot ceilings in my storage unit so i use 12 foot tall racks and get twice as much storage as the guys that only use the small ones. i bought a warehouse ladder on wheels that easily rolls in and out of the unit or you can use a ladder if space is limited or can't find a warehouse ladder. also these shelves hold tons of weight especially if you have the little metal supports that hold up 3/4 inch pressboard like i do. picture attached and excuse the mess.

did that lift come with the house purchase? SWEET

Thanks guys!
Yes the lift and everything else mention above were included with the house.

As for my username. I've had it for probably 15+years ago. I came up with it shortly after seeing the 1st gen Viper GTS at a big auto show. I was pretty young at the time and the car really just caught my eye. I removed having die cast cars of it and posters of it all over my room.
I could probably afford one now but they aren't very practical and are getting up there in age.

The garage also came with a clean burn waste oil heater and a few large holding tanks behind the shop.

Front of the shop last night.

Compressor and new drain I installed.

Welcome aboard, If that is pvc pipe you are using for your air lines, That should be the first thing you change. The group will be down on you for the pvc. Many many threads on here about the hazards of using it.

I haven't had any issues with it yet. It's all rated for 250psi I believe. I'll do some research on the pvc tonight.
If I do end up changing it I will probably go with black pipe.

I did get this beauty delivered last week.
