Hey there,

New to the forum. First time home owner in the Southern Washington area. Bought a new build a year and a half ago.

Not tons of experience with DIY stuff, but thanks to a friend and my father-in-law I'm trying to learn and do as much as I can to my house on my own.

Hello and welcome to the site.
There's a "location" field somewhere in your "profile".
I'm not exactly sure where "southern" Washington is.... if I had to guess I'd say anything south of I-90. :dunno:

hahaha nice emoji!

Were just north of portland, but didn't want to say the portland metro area, because then everyone would assume i lived in portland.

EB: how do you like Ridgefield compared to Tacoma? welcome to the forum and if you have any questions just find threads to help you and if you still need help ask on those threads.

lots of very smart people here to get some help from so hope you stick around to learn and maybe pass on some of your new skills to others that need some.

cheers

@drivesitfar

Its hard to compare. In Tacoma we were in an apartment near the mall (which had its benifits and negatives). Now we are in a house (that we own) in Ridgefield technically, but its super south ridgefield so it might as well be salmon creek. But now owning a home, I would never want to go back if I can help it. Tacoma was cool while we were there, but where we are now is a much better set up.

Thanks, Ive already done a bunch of digging around on the forum.

I also posted a thread here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=354042

Seems like there is a lot of knowledge here that I would love to be able to learn from. Thats the goal, I plan to do more and more and in the process learn more and more.

Like you said and hopefully pass on skills to someone else.
