Just a quick introduction. I joined Garage Journal as I begin planning a detached shop. Looking for ideas about layout and how to use space efficiently.
Current planned size is 32' x 40' with two 12' x 12' doors on the 32' gable end side.

Looking forward to seeing if the planned foot print is big enough.

Thank you! I plan on storing a tractor (6' x 20') and a boat (9' x 28'). Also need a combo wood/metal shop. I need to take a closer look at how much space would be needed for equipment. Any posts that you know of to help determine size and layout?

Take a look at the Grizzly shop planner. It uses flash, but you can still make it work and it's pretty simple to use.
