Hello all, I am a new member. I have lurked for a while reading here and there. Every now and then I click "reply to post" but couldn't because I hadn't joined yet. I finally figured it was about time. SuperSport is the one that told me about the forum. I know I'll be addicted in no time.

A little bit about myself.

Married
Baby Boy on the way(due Sept 16)

I drive a 98 Subaru Outback
I have a 1980 Yamaha XS 650 that I am working on fixing/restoring when the time and money permit.
I have a 52 Chevy pickup that has been in the family since it was new(I believe anyway). Currently at my Dad's house until I have a place for it and can get it running again.

Joining the Air Force, trying to create a plan for a garage while I am away(looking at using a storage unit wherever I end up).

I am a hobbyist mechanic / self maintenance.

Thats what I've got. I look forward to lots of time spent right here!

Thank you in advanced for your service. My son joined the Marines about 9 months ago. Here is a 650 Special I did several years ago. Started as a free bike and ended up with this.

Wow that is a sharp bike! Did you paint the wheels? Or plastidip? or what did you do?

Mine started off free, it was in my dads barn siezed up. When I tore into it I found out that it had dropped a valve and chewed a hole in the top of the piston. And by the top I mean almost the whole thing. I don't have pictures handy but I'll try to post some soon.
