I'm from Michigan, not happy about my basketball team losing, but they accomplished a lot this year when they were counted out. Go Blue!! Posting for the first time here. I finished my garage and now on to some tools, just wondering for a first-time torque wrench, which would be better 3/8 or 1/2 drive.

Torque wrench selection depends on how you'll use it. If it's for lug nuts on your car/truck, you probably want a 1/2", 50-250 ft-lbs or the like. You can use a 3/8, but the handle is likely shorter (requires more force to get the same torque), and you'll have to pay attention to the torque range. Some of those are rated in in-lbs and some are ft-lbs. Make sure you buy the one you need.
Some folks here have seen good service from the $10 Harbor Freight torque wrenches. I wouldn't use one to torque a head on a race engine, but it'd be fine for torqueing lug nuts where 5-10 ft-lb is not critical.

for the most part though, I think a 1/2" is the most popular. lots of folks on her like the tekton torque wrench, also many think the HF is a good value. Personally I have craftsman 3/8 & 1/2, Mac 3/4, snap on 1/4...
