I found this forum looking for information on heating a garage and other things pertaining to garage space.
I recently purchased a home for the garage space. My friends think I'm nuts, who buys a house for garage
space they said. Well I did and I could possibly be nuts but I like to think otherwise. I'm presently in the midst of moving into my house/garage
and will be surrounded by boxes tomorrow.
I have a RV Garage that is 540 sq ft and will be my main studio space. Next to it is a RV carport which I need to enclose into a space to
hold my kilns and kiln accessories - hence it will be the Kiln room.
Then to top this off I have a 3 car garage next to the house. Single car garage is for my little car and the two car garage ...who knows. Room to expand?
Can you see why my friends might think I'm crazy.
The house and garages are stick construction with stucco exterior. I don't yet know how insulated garages are. I do need to have decent heat as I had
a minisplit in my last studio but it was difficult as I would turn it on the night before if I wanted to work. You really need to keep it heated consistently to at least a comfortable temperature as working with
cold wet clay is not pleasant and it's impossible to heat everything quickly. Ultimately, maybe a gas heater hanging from the ceiling that can keep
everything at some reasonable consistent temperature (hopefully at a reasonable cost) might be the answer. I don't know and hope some of you can help me out.
If you give great advice and I don't reply, please don't take offense because maybe I'm still unpacking looking for the cork screw. that kid packed away on the bottom of some box.
