Hello,

This is my first post. My dad recently passed at 90. His basement garage is full of old tools and supplies. Hoping to learn more about his older tools. Many hydraulic, electric, air, and heavy mechanical.

Maybe along the way I can help someone else.

Jumping right in w pics and question. If this is wrong forum thread please steer me in correct location.

His old compressor. An IR T30. Can't read the rest of plate. Note ccase bolts. Top single bolt on CC cover. Casted to allow bolt. Can anyone tell me more about this pump. Two belts. Not yet sure about motor. Ran very quiet. Tank off old 1940s? locomotive.

Thank you for your assistance!

Jay

It's a type 30 compressor, 2-Stage, estimate 5HP (due to 2 v-belts), estimate 15-17 CFM @ 175 PSI output. Looks like it also has an unloader valve which is a nice feature, or perhaps it is a low oil level switch?

If not mistaken, you can still get parts for these compressors.

It's damaged and not able to start working again. If you can wish to rebuilt this compressor machine again then change compressor oil for efficient.I see this picture machine needs rebuilt for work and change coils and fix the proper wires on machine. Before connected wires check the power voltage amps to use it.

Thank you sir! Very helpful. Considering hauling down from Gatlinburg to my garage in a Kennesaw. Clean it up and using it. It always ran very quiet.
