I did four full layouts before I decided on my building size and layout, changed roofs several times and turned things inside 90 degree more times than I can count. dont rush into a design, plan and plan and then plan some more. then break ground. Had I rushed in I would be thoroughly unhappy with my first building layout, which I loved until I laid it out.

That's the rules around here. If you post about an upcoming build, it has to be pics from start to finish. If you can't post the pics, then it is up to you to put the responsibility of said pics on the shoulders of wife, son, or daughter. Pics of bare lot is also required prior to posting build pics. Failure to do so will result is a barrage of :bs: smilies and another barrage of :needpics: and just the phrase of "PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN"

Oh, and BTW......Welcome:hellobye: We are all looking forward to the new build

thanks for the replies. still an untouched lot will post pictures soon. the lot is about 100 miles from residence so the trips are on weekends when grandkids are not engaged in sports activities. hopefully as the weather cools the pictures and the work will begin to unfold. i will look forward to suggestions from this group of folks.

Welcome! What part of Texas are You in? I am near Amarillo, Canyon to be exact. I was going to move to Texoma when I retired, and build a steel bldg with shop and living quarters in it. I am a sailor, and Our local lake had almost dried up. I put off My Texoma plans for a while, but still plan to make it over there. Wiil you be on Ok or Texas side? When I was a kid I lived at Texoma every summer on a boat at Loe's Highport. Texoma is an awesome lake, We need lots of pics!

If I were building storage for my travel trailer, I would have full hook-ups in the building. It would be great to be able to fully service the trailer, pre- and post-trip.

thanks bronson. actually live in duncan,ok. lot is on the east side of soldier creek (south of kingston,ok) borders corp property straight across from the marina. bad deal about the drought conditions same here in duncan, lakes are way low. texoma is actually just 2 feet low but needs to have some water flushed through however the fishing has been very good.

hello again -- been a year now and some progress but slow. Still doing sight prep work and retaining wall build. Sorry about the pictures but it is mostly pictures of holes, dirt, and burning brush. I will try and get some pictures up after this weekend. Not much to see yet but do have pipe in the ground that will anchor the concrete retaining wall.Just finished with digging up very difficult concrete pad that was put in place in the 1930's that was base for an airforce runway beacon before lake texoma was built. Don't know the whole story but they sure used a lot of concrete back in the day on government work. Will stay in touch a little more frequently now that some above ground work is soon, tired of electric and water lines and dirtwork but you only have one shot at the work you can't see later. Weekends are a slow way to build and when the fish are biting it gets even slower. Thanks for the posts of the buildings in process I enjoy looking and getting great ideas for the coming work above ground.
