hello all, this is my first post. I have purchased 450 sq ft of vct for my garage along with "henry 430 clear thin spread floor tile adhesive" the instructions state "remove loose paint" and do not mention acid etch,or removal of paint or anything else. I painted my garage floor with a product called "hot traxx" from lowes about 5 years ago and am not willing to go through the pain of removal....will I be ok, or am I in for trouble with tile adhesion??? btw the hot traxx product was not an epoxy.

As long as there is no loose paint, you should be okay. A good cleaning to get up all the dirt, oil, etc. and you should not have any problems. Just to be safe, you might want to put some of the adhesive down in a non-visible area and leave it overnight. Make sure it doesn't disolve the paint or do anything strange that would cause the paint to no longer stick to the floor.
