I happened to find this community this morning and was pleased to find others doing some of the same things I do. I'm also writing to find help in sizing the spacing of metal purlins on a new hay shed I'm going to put up.
My hay shed is 30' X 40'. I am plannig to use 4X4 steel columns supporting 30' steel trusses (which were commercially manufactured). I had planned to use a 13.3' spacing on the columns and trusses. I bought 4" steel purlins, but am now wondering if the truss spacing is too big for these purlins. Is there anyone out there with an opinion?----Thanks
