I moved to a home with 6.5 acres, a 30 x 40 shop and a large tobacco barn in Kentucky. The home was a foreclosure and the shop was never completed. I have been looking at this site for a bit looking for ideas and finally decided to join. I have wired the garage and ran power from my house to the shop. Working on insulation and ceiling. The one thing I am not thrilled about is the shop has a 9 ft ceiling... But it is better than working in a driveway in the weather I guess!

Welcome, Joe.... I would kill for a shop with 9 foot ceilings, in a place warmer than New York.

JOE: post up a few pictures of your shop and maybe some of us might give you some pointers on how to raise the ceiling if possible. or just how to spend the money you saved on some cool tools.
