Help Assembling Two-Post Lift?

Lured by a Amazon $500 gift card that I had, I succumbed and bought a cheap Chinese-made two-post clear floor lift (in this case an Aston Tech AL-100RH, though there seem to be quite a few of these same lifts with just different paint colors and brand names). The Amazon seller was the manufacturer: Aston Tech. I received the lift, lugged it into the garage and worked my **** off, muddling through horribly translated English instructions and badly out-of-focus diagrams to get the towers upright, bolted to the floor, cross-brace installed, etc. only to find as I was 95% complete that the lift lock release line assembly (the thin braided steel line that runs from the safety lock on one post to the safety lock on the other) is either:

1) Missing some parts
2) A newer design than my installation instructions
3) Possibly both?

No problem, just contact the seller, right? Wrong. After finally getting a reply after numerous emails and phone calls, the seller informed me that the lift "must be installed by a licensed installer" (licensed by whom is unclear) and that they would neither be providing me the missing parts or advising on assembly. Odd there was no mention of this when they were taking my money...Either way, I have filed a claim with Amazon and we'll see where that goes.

In the meantime: I'd love to figure this thing out, as I'm so close. I was wondering if anyone out there has the same lift, the same lift from another manufacturer, or a lift that uses a similar mechanism that might be able to advise on how to finish up.

Here is a pic of the pump-side lock assembly:

Here's a scan of the only pic of this assembly in the instructions:

And here are the parts I have left (plus the two large covers that bolt over the assemblies and some miscellaneous bolts/washers):

The circlips obviously go around the pivoting shaft that runs through the bracket on the tower and the lock. However, I am missing the bushings seen in the assembly pic (item #19) so I have not attached them yet. Not too worried about the bushings; I can probably stack up some large washers if necessary. The clamps hold the braided line. The two small red covers bolt to some holes at the very top of the towers here:

It's unclear what exactly they are meant to be covering.

The pulleys (there's four of them in the pic if it's not clear) obviously carry the braided rope, but I don't see how they actually get attached to the assemblies. It's *possible* the lower pullies are actually supposed to sit in the slot that's machined into the towers (see first pic), and then get bolted on using one of the bolts that also mounts the large covers, but I'm not sure. Item #25 in this assembly pic is listed as a "flat shaft"; I have nothing that looks like that. And I know there should also be another pulley mounted at the top of each tower to route the line over to the other tower, but I don't see how they are supposed to be attached. There's nothing in the area of the smaller red covers that mount up top that seems like it would accept a pulley.

Finally, here are two pieces that are a complete mystery:

Not sure what they're for or where they go, but I can only assume they're supposed to be part of this assembly somehow.

If anyone has any ideas, I would surely appreciate them.

Where, in general terms, (like County and state) are you located?

Haha, license #438934-PITA!

And trust me, I know it's blurry; I wish it was an issue with my scanner. But that's how it actually looks in the installation instructions.

Sorry; but that is too far away for me. I am sure that if I could put my hands on the parts, they would speak to me.

Reverse Engineering is one of my talents.

No worries! I know what you're saying about having to put hands (and in-person eyes) on the parts. Meet up in Michigan? That's about halfway for each of us! ;)

Pulley up top of pic and cable loop bolted at the bottom?
After that I dunno.
What were the other brands the same lift sold under?
I would be searching vids of all those brands.

I have a cheep chinese lift and honestly couldn't be happier. Same one Sloppy mechanics (Matt) installedd in his garage. Was $1700 back then. Zero leaks... but my only regret wass not replacing the supplied anchors with True 19mm or 3/4 ones. The supplied ones are 18mm and there Aint no 18mm concrete bits.

I'm 99% sure you're right about the bottom pulley the more I look at it. Now just have to figure out the top. I was pleasantly surprised by the anchors included with this one; nice 3/4" zinc hammer drive anchors just like these: https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/77186591

The 18mm anchors supplied pulled higher than I want because of the slightly larger hole.
I also used a few viton O-rings on the hose ends and threw the originals in the trash. Those seemed too thin to properly fill the groove when seated. That was one leak Matt developed early on with his.

Just some food for thought.

I am thinking the mystery parts would do a good job of mounting that pulley. You say it's a clear floor lift, so the cable needs to go overhead, right? It appears to me that there might need to be two versions of the off-side lock, or else 3 pulleys, so that you can make the cable come up to the offside lock. You didn't show us the offside lock, and that diagram shows it as if the cable is running on the floor.

What you need it to do is very simple and it seems to me the only real question is whether there are holes in the lift that you're supposed to be running the cable through. that long slot is probably one such hole. There would be a pully in that slot and the cable then proceeds overhead inside the column. It doesn't actually matter. You could run that cable anywhere in the universe as long as it pulls both locks, and it's not like you don't know where the locks go.

I just installed a Challenger lift, made in USA. It uses a bicycle type cable to the other side and a system of tension springs that pretty much ensure the other side keeps tension and allows overtravel by simply extending the spring instead of stretching the cable.
