Help- Cannot remove a tire with a Coats tire machine

I have a Coats 5060 and the tire is a 265/75 R16, so it's a bit bigger than a car tire. With the top bead off and the tire angled with the high side on the left, I put the lever under the bottom bead below the duck head but when I do, it is impossible to push down on the high side and lift up on the low side/lever to bring the duckhead side up.

This sounds basic I know and I have watched lots of videos but I cannot get the tire to come up to remove the bottom bead. What is the trick to remove SUV tires like this? I was able to do a smaller 235/75R15 with no issue.

Have you tried flipping the rim over and trying it that way?

You mean put the top bead back on and then flipping it? No, but I think I would still have the same issue.

Let me clarify, the beads are broken top and bottom. Where I am having problems is the action at 3:14-3:23 in this video

I cannot lift the tire up, guessing the sidewall is too thick?

Keep in mind the 'drop center' is not always in the center of the wheel. Your tires may only go on/off one way (Reverse mount wheels come off the back)

Also, I have a manual operated tire changer that I use for my motorcycle tires. They have extremely stiff sidewalls and the only way to get them off/on is to actually use little wooden blocks to hold the bead in the drop center (center of wheel) and then I have to actually use a ratchet strap to pull it in close to the rim

Thanks! That pic definitely helped. No, the tire is at the bottom where the blue green red lines are. I will raise the bottom bead up and then try it.

Also, I just have the standard duckhead, if there are other attachments that make mounting/dismounting easier, I'd like to hear what those are.

Did you use lube on the beads? Can you get the bead over the rim? Is the offside of the tire set right, not to low or to high? I had the same tire machine and did not have problems with this size.

Circling back on this. I stepped away out of frustration/time and this past month decided to look into it again. There were a few things that needed to be done.

1- check for leaks with soap and fix them at the connections. One leak was the rotary coupling so I got a new Coats Tire Changer Rotary Coupling kit and swapped it in
2- ordered a table cylinder seal kit and rebuilt the cylinder. This is the cylinder that clamps.
3- I noticed the air lines to the table were pinched off on 2-3 of them. They were a bit short too by about 2-3" which caused them to bend. I got some 3/8" nylon tube and replaced all 6 lines, This made a huge difference

I successfully removed a number of tires from smaller ones to 35s. I am really happy to have this working now, and it worked well even with my small 20 gallon air compressor.

Now for the question. I did have a few tires rip on the inside of the edge by the duckhead. These were longer strips that ate a chunk of the tire. What causes this? The duckhead is metal and I assume OEM, but I am debating if a new duckhead would fix this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I1FDU8/?tag=atomicindus08-20 When do you know you need a new duckhead?

Thanks all.
