I have 2 Parkers that I've acquired to try to learn how to recondition by taking them apart; I've just started. One is a 272 and the other a 974 1/2. The 272 has a big spring but the 974 1/2 does not. Is that right? Or should the 974 1/2 also have a spring?

I've looked through Craig's (Catalyze) very fine 272 restoration thread. On the 4/8/11 post's batch of image's there's the description: "... here are those tiny parts that keep the handle from sliding." I can't find those.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

Greetings!
We vise folk are a timid lot. You have to tease us with photos.....really you do. Put a photo out and we will all look at the thread in hopes of something naked in the background! LOL

Okay.....post up your vise photos....in the meantime.....I will go out and take my handle "stop" apart and measure up what you need. In fact....I will go out and try to make you what you need. Just let me know if you need the set screw also. Now this may take a while since I tend to have no project focus...........wow.....look at that butterfly.....is it dinner time yet? See...you get the idea...but I will try to get parts made for you this week if I can figure out what my tiny town has to offer.

Did I mention to post photos?
Craig
