I've got a 100cfm, 175psi 200gallon compressor. I need an air regulator for it. I'm plumbing everything so far with 1" black pipe I heard some of the cheap ones hum and leak. I'd like to buy a decent one from the start. So many choices and I don't really know where to start. My main function is sand blasting so I need the volume.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't help with hte regulator, but suggest a larger gauge than the 2" you normally find on a compressor. I use a 4" gauge becasue that is what I use on fire sprinkler systems

Check to make sure the manual drain is accessable. I remove the drain and pipe the drain so I can use 1/4" pipe fittings and a ball valve. I cut the bottom off a milk jug and let the condensation drain inot hte milk jug. The volumn of air you will use, an automatic drain might be a good idea.

thank you for the reply...I have two two inline filters before I have a refrigerated dryer. The only thing I"m missing is the regulator. I've searched the web and there haven't been many good reviews for anything in the 1" range.

As long as you don't need over 140 PSIG output, Here's one at a decent price: ARO, 1" input: R37461-100 Price is about $130, no gauge.

or: Parker-Watts - 1" NPT Pressure Regulator - 0-250 psi Pressure Range - Mfr Model # R119-08D at about $115

The Parker-Watts really seems nice... exactly what I was looking for.

I see another part number that looks the same. I'm trying to figure out the difference

R119-08D vs R119-08CG???????? It's D vs C and the G designates with a gauge I think..

Apparently the R119-08CG is 125psi with a gauge so that won't work.

For anyone else that needs a good regulator. R119-08D is the correct number.
