I have carport style garage on order that comes with the storage unit roll up doors. Very little info about insulating this type of door out there. I am having second thoughts on dropping the doors from the order and going with a standard garage door. This is a side entry building with 3 door openings and 2' spacing between them. Does anyone have a standard door on one of these type of buildings and any issues, thoughts? TIA

The Yellow Pages in your local telephone book (assuming you are in an area with telephone service) can direct you to a Garage Door dealer.

I can do the work myself. I'm just looking to see if someone has done this with the same type of building. I can pioneer this whole change the style of door but I find it hard to believe that everyone that has an uninsulated roll up door thinks it's the bomb.

I have a 2400 sqft shop with 3 roll up doors (14') I hate everything about them but the cost. They have poor insulation and tons of gaps. My biggest complaint is that they rattle like hell in wind... Get a decent panel door. Insulated costs only about 25% more on a panel door. Note there are aftermarket hing and hardware kits that I'd install if I was doing one myself.

I have an insulated metal lined sectional garage door, with windows, and am very pleased with it.

My dealer did the installation.

Are your doors going on the side of the building and not the gable end? If so go to home depots website and build a custom commercial garage door. Towards the end you have track options and you can order it to follow the roof pitch if that makes sense. The option is only available on the commercial series though.

Thanks for the suggestion haveissues. I dropped the canister doors from the order. Going to go with two standard doors, and one high lift door on the lift side.
