Help dating two S-K sockets

Hello Hive Mind, I'm sorting through a lot of of miscellaneous sockets from my dad as he passes his collection on to me. While I don't know the origin of these two S-K sockets, I reasonable believe that they came from my Grandfather (to my Dad). Based on what I've gleaned from the inter-webs so far, perhaps they may be from the War era '42-'45 and may be included in sets as spark-plug sockets.

Stamptings are:
40832 S-K 1
40828 S-K 7/8

It is difficult in looking at the pictures of your sockets to know if they are pitted chrome plated sockets or some other finish. My best guess is that they are pitted chrome which would make them no earlier than 1946. They would have come in a set like this.
Individual socket.
Here is an assortment of wartime sockets and yours don’t really resemble these.
-Don
